STRAVAIG is the story of a small gang of disillusioned millennials, whisking themselves off to the harsh and beautiful wilderness of the Scottish Highlands to complete a 100 mile trek from the centre of Glasgow, heading North all the way to Fort William. Far too acclimatised to city-based desk jobs, the quartet set their sights on conquering the West Highland Way, to mark the 40th anniversary of its official opening as a hiking route, hundreds of years after it was first tamed. This well trodden path and the journey that ensues, provides in equal measure some empty space to relieve the build-up of stress from their daily lives, and the opportunity for a bit of physical graft to get the blood flowing and the bodies moving. Proving surprisingly tough both physically and mentally, they return to the melee of working life ultimately having found a new perspective in the modern world, whilst also managing to have a bit of fun along the way.

Captured through the professional lens of Jack Schofield, founder of Two26 Photography, join the hikers on the journey to and through the wilderness, and take a look at some of the moments and interesting reflections from along the way.

Description

There are any number of reasons why humans feel the need to sporadically disappear off into the countryside, from escaping the pressures of a desk-orientated day job, right through to the innate desire to reconnect with the wild. Jack Schofield and his three companions are no different.
